“What is it… exactly?” the Healer asked, looking somewhat perplexed.
“He’s a pygmy dragon.”
“That’s a pygmy?” Wonder was evident in his voice.
Adianna stared after the retreating ridged back; the gold arrowhead tail tip flicked dismissively. She thought back, trying to recollect seeing pygmies for the first time but was at a loss. Puffin and his brood had been a part of her life as far back as she could remember. So, she had to imagine what it must be like for the Healer to see one for the first time.
“They are a cross between a drac and a griffin, right?” the man inquired, still gawking after the dragon.
“Yes,” she answered. “They have the dragonish shape from the drac, though the gryphon lends it the shape of its head and feet. And the belly, of course. I am afraid no self-respecting drac would be seen with a potbelly.” Adianna chuckled.
